Research Committee Chairman, Roger Durand, Reports Proposal--reviewed 7 Mar 2005

As the chairman of the research committee, I promised the Board of Directors a mission statement proposal. I would appreciate comments from the research committee members or anyone else on the adequacy of the statement below:

The research committee is the main body which will attempt to gather, document, and consolidate Durand family data and sources of a historical nature. The activities will focus on time periods other than the contemporary or recent past. While dates, places, and individuals constitute the fabric of our family history, the research committee will strive to tell the family story in light of other, non-family historical events (i.e., migrations, occupations, wars, economic events, etc.).
